Hi there,
And so this is Christmas, and what (embarrassing thing) have you done? Here, Jamie and Zane hunt for evidence of the aphrodisiac properties of Peking Duck as served up at our Christmas bash. Sorry boys I'm sure I'll get done next year.

For some less embarrassing happy snaps, take a look at our facebook page.
It's a cliché I know but hasn't this year gone fast? Can you remember a time, way back at school, when the years passed agonisingly slowly? Back then you'd give your left Chestnut to speed up the onset of the 'silly season'. These days the months just blend together but it's good to be busy. Those of you in the wine industry know what I mean: Christmas being one the busiest times for orders. I understand if you have to try and beat those postal strikes and send off those last few mixed dozens before coming back to read all about our latest adventures with a glass of your finest.
Those not directly in the industry may of heard a lot of negative press about the state of things and the oversupply. The good news is that things are not as dire as some might suggest, a recovery will come and that all wine-lovers can help. This year support your local wineries by buying some wines for Christmas and trying a few styles you've not tasted before. Go on, grab a bottle of that Sparkling Late Harvest Bio-dynamic Carbon Neutral that you've thought about. It's sure to be a winner, and matched with your Christmas pudding, will offset the carbon footprint of getting that five pound dessert onto your table. If only there was a waistline offset and an Expansion Trading Scheme to match. We all need one at this time of year so write to your local member!
For us 2010 is the Year of The Trade Show with at least three to attend in Australia and the US. Here are a couple of dates for your diary:
We hope to see you at your local show when we're in town.
News wise we're just back from lovely McLaren Vale installing VINx2 at Yangarra Estate. They have an impressive new winery under construction and we can't wait to see it operational. Their current release wines are crackers as well. Check out Yangarra's website for details.

We also stopped into Belvidere Winery to discuss our Advanced Inventory module and started designing a new website for them (a new service we offer). I was also able to grab a couple of pictures showing our lab labels (printed direct from VINx2) and our barrel bar-coding in action:

We're also in the process of installing VINx2 at McCrae Mist wines on the Mornington Peninsula and have Kahlon Estate of Renmark to install during the second week of January. Zane (he's the brains of the operation) is taking his family to New Zealand for most of January and we wish him a well deserved break.
We've also had some great press from Invest Victoria about our success in the US with VINx2. See the article here.
Wishing you all the best for Christmas and a safe, prosperous and happy New Year.
Josh and the JX2 team
